Force and motion recall notes

A 0.5 kg cart starts from rest under a constant horizontal net force of 2 N. Newton’s second law gives a = F / m = 4 m/s². After 3 s, its speed is 12 m/s and its displacement is 18 m. The force does 36 J of work over that displacement, equal to the increase in kinetic energy. If the same net force continues, the cart keeps accelerating; its speed does not stop increasing at 3 s.

The complete walkthrough

  1. Bring a short source

Open Flashcards and review the example notes, or upload a supported text-based document and check the extraction.

  2. Make the cards

Choose Make free flashcards to create a small complete deck from that material.

  3. Try before revealing

Read each prompt and form your answer before using the answer reveal and previous/next controls.

  4. Save a useful deck

Sign in to save the completed cards to a course, then return to that saved deck for another review.
